GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. -- A custodian at a high school in North Carolina was charged Tuesday after a 17-year-old female student at the school claimed he spanked her, deputies said. Ruben H. Long Jr., 64, has been charged with assault on a female. The incident allegedly happened in December at Southeast Guilford High while the girl was staying after school for a senior project, according to arrest warrants. Long, who has working for school system since 2000, has been relocated to the maintenance facility pending the outcome of the investigation. He was released on a written promise to appear in court, deputies told WXII12 News.
